Project Highlights

The facility was equipped with new electrical, water and sewer services, as well as a new automatic fire protection and HVAC systems.

Construction combined cast in place walls, precast double tees, and a long span structural steel roof system with concrete topping over the gymnasium and existing building structure.

Site improvements encompassed a new multi-purpose sports field with synthetic turf and a six lane all weather running track. The maintenance building provides toilets, storage and an announcers booth.
The new outdoor fit trail fitness system traverses the entire site and includes a running path and fit stations.
A 274-stall parking lot was constructed on the west side of the facility, and a storm water distribution with limited underground piping, as well as two bioswales, was installed to help with storm water run-offs.
Landscaping work included planting new trees, and the reconfiguration and replanting of existing trees at the site.
The existing Charles King gymnasium was renovated and oriented toward family fitness programs that include a training room, group exercise room and dance studio, a family fitness center with family and children programs, and a youth sized circuit equipment room. Upgrades were made to the racquetball courts and exterior façade to match the new Fitness Center including a new roof over the gymnasium.
